Drop-In Counseling & StarHelp sessions through the Cranium Café virtual lobby

Quick virtual counseling/customer service appointments are available by online video meeting (Cranium Café).

Students can meet with an NOCE counselor or StarHelp agent for a 10-15 minute Drop-In Counseling session through the Cranium Café virtual lobby.

  • Please note that drop-in sessions are provided on a first come first serve basis.
  • The virtual lobby may be closed 30 minutes early if there are a high volume of students waiting for assistance.

To scheduled a longer online counseling appointment, please call the Counseling and Student Services office at 714.808.4682 or e-mail counseling@noce.edu. (Student ID is required to make an appointment, please include your student ID number and phone number when emailing.)

Monday: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Wednesday: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. 

Thursday: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

    Use the StarHelp chat lobby on Mondays – Fridays from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

    Use Academic and DSS Virtual Counseling during regular office hours for assistance by following the steps below:

     

    1. Above, click on the virtual lobby you wish to visit using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox internet browsers.

     

    2. Carefully read the Informed Consent Statement. (Select Agree to continue).

    3. Log in as a current student with the NOCE Portal.

    *Current student, log in with your student ID and password. OR prospective students log in with guest registration.

     

    4. Log in as a Current Student (Canvas) or with Guest Registration

    Current students:
    Log in using your MyGateway student ID and password.

    Prospective students:
    If you do not have an NOCE Student ID, log in with Guest Registration.

    • Create a ConexED account. You will need an active email account that you can immediately check when you register.

    5. Now you are in the Virtual Lobby! Stay in the virtual lobby (waiting room) and keep your browser window open. If you close your browser, you will exit the lobby and will need to re-enter.

     

    A counselor or StarHelp staff member will see you as soon as they are available!

  • Privacy and Confidentiality
    • For privacy and confidentiality, find a private and quiet location where you can communicate comfortably. We recommend you log in using a secure computer.
    • Be sure to update your phone number and email in myGateway. You will receive instructions if there are technical difficulties, and your counselor needs to use another option for communication (i.e., Zoom or a phone call).
