Student/myGateway ID number
1. I was previously enrolled but I don’t remember my Student/myGateway ID number. How do I get my Student/myGateway ID number?
- Visit myGateway and choose “Forgot Username.” If unsuccessful, may follow the steps below:
- Email starhelp@noce.edu from the email address you would like to use as your preferred email.
- Call (714) 808-4679 and confirm your Full Name, Date of Birth, Phone# or Address on file

2. I don’t remember what email I used on my account. How do I check?
Email starhelp@noce.edu from the email address you would like to use as your preferred email. Please provide the following information:
- Full Name
- Student/myGateway ID number (if available)
- Date of Birth
- Telephone number or Address
- Government-issued ID
- Statement: “Please update my preferred email address.”
Password to myGateway and Canvas
3. I forgot or have not created my password to myGateway and Canvas. How can I change or create it?
Click “Forgot password?” under Login on myGateway. Or Canvas (noce.edu/canvas)
- Enter your Student ID (also known as your myGateway username).
- If you don’t know your Student ID, choose the “Forgot Username” link on the log-in page.
- Choose the “Forgot Password?” button to continue.
- Enter 6-digit One Time Passcode (OTP) sent to your email address or phone number and click “Continue” (Learn more about OTP 2 Factor Authentication).
- Type a new password of your choosing twice and click “Continue.”
- Click “Continue Logging In” and use a new password for successful login.

All students need a Student/myGateway ID number before registration. Please apply to NOCE to receive a Student/myGateway ID# by following these instructions:
Once you receive your Student/myGateway ID number, please follow appropriate registration steps based on your program or courses.

11. Can I register for more than one program? For example, High School Diploma Program and Medical Assistant?
Yes, however, you must be sure to follow the registration steps for each program.

12. I am waitlisted for a course, how do I know if I can register?
English as a Second Language: Contact the ESL office at (714) 808-4682 (option 1) or esl4all@noce.edu.
Career Technical Education, College Preparation, GED/HiSet Preparation, Parenting, and Older Adult (Emeritus) Courses:
Students added to the waitlist are not guaranteed enrollment into any class and must meet all registration requirements. Waitlisted students are accepted into a class as space is available and in the order they have been placed on the waitlist.If a seat becomes available, students on the waitlist will be notified by an automated e-mail (noreply@nocccd.edu). The student must register by the 24-hour deadline indicated in the notification, which begins when the email is sent. The student will be dropped from the waitlist if the deadline is missed.

Online Classes: The waitlist process is only valid through the end of the first week of the class.In-person Classes: The waitlist process is only valid through the day of the first class meeting. **Parenting and Older Adults Courses enrollment is ongoing an dependent on availability.
Only officially registered students may attend class. A waitlisted student is not officially registered into the class until they have completed the registration process to be added to the roster through self-registration or through Admissions and Records.

14. What happens after I register? How do I start my class?
Online Courses:
If you register Before the Class Start Date:
Your course(s) will be available on Canvas on the first day of class, as seen in the schedule by logging into noce.edu/canvas using the same log-in information as myGateway.
If you register After the Class Start Date:
Your course will appear on Canvas 24 hours after registration by logging into noce.edu/canvas using the same log-in information as myGateway.
In-Person Courses:
Arrive to class on the first date on the day, time, and location indicated in the schedule. Attendance on the first day of class is mandatory for Career Technical Education, College Preparation, GED/HiSet Preparation, and Parenting courses; registered students who do not attend the first-course meeting may be dropped if a waitlist exists for the class.

15. How can I request an Enrollment/Attendance Verification, or an Official Transcript?
Please submit the form(s) to starhelp@noce.edu for processing.
*Please note: Each student receives two free copies; after that, each copy is $5.00.- Enrollment/Attendance Verifications will be sent to your email address as an official pdf. Download the Verification Request Form.
- Official Transcripts will be mailed to the address provided on the request form in a sealed envelope. Download Transcript Request Form.

16. How do I make an appointment with a Counselor to find out what courses or program to register for?
Please make an appointment with a Counselor by sending an email to counseling@noce.edu or call (714) 808-4682 and leave a message with your contact information:
- Full Name
- Student/myGateway ID number
- Telephone Number
- Program you are in/interested
- Morning or Evening Availability

17. I chose “Forgot Password” and received the error message “Invalid Username Provided” after typing my ID number in the Username field:
Please contact starhelp@noce.edu with the information below to update the email on file. Once updated, re-attempt the “Forgot Password” steps as listed in Question 2.

18. I reset my password and received the error message “Ellucian – Contact system administrator”

19. I applied and received my CCCID but cannot log into myGateway, what can I do?
This means you have completed part 1 of 2 of the application. Please log back into your application to complete part 2 by clicking the following link: Apply (opencccapply.net)

20. How can I update my name if it is spelled incorrectly or I have made a change?
Please complete the “Student Information Change Form” (download here) and submit it to starhelp@noce.edu with the following:
- Copy of government-issued photo ID with the correct/updated name (example: driver’s license, passport)
AND
- Legal document confirming previous name (example: marriage license, court request, or previous driver’s license)

21. What if I received a “COHORT RESTRICTION” error in myGateway/webstar when trying to register for a class?
This means the course requires an Online Orientation before registration. Please follow the instructions and complete the appropriate Orientation: How to complete Online Orientation
22. I tried registering but I am receiving a “Call Starhelp” or “Call CTE” error, what can I do?
Email starhelp@noce.edu with the following information:
- Full Name
- Student/myGateway ID number
- CRN(s) of course(s) you would like to add
You will receive a confirmation email if you were registered, waitlisted, or require pre-requisites.
23. I do not see my course in Canvas, what can I do?
First, confirm your registration online by following the instructions in the link: How to Confirm your Class Schedule.
- If you are not registered, please follow steps in question 10 to complete registration.
- If you are registered, please refer to question 14 to identify when your course will appear in CANVAS.
