Successful Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit Hosted by NOCE

NOCE was honored to host the Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit on behalf of California Community College Chancellor Dr. Sonya Christian, North Orange County Community College District Chancellor Dr. Byron Breland, noncredit students, and all practitioners from across the state of California.

The Summit was held on October 3-4, 2024, at the Westin Anaheim Resort in Anaheim. Although this was the second in the Vision 2030 series, this event was the first in history to be held in Orange County. The summit welcomed attendees from more than 40 colleges and districts throughout California, 70 speakers, over 30 sponsors, and 15 breakout sessions! More than 300 attendees enjoyed the day-and-a-half summit of general sessions, breakout presentations, and panels, connecting with colleagues and interacting with sponsors.

The sponsors for the event were excited to participate with so many educators. Attendees also enjoyed special features from an international sponsor that provided a state-of-the-art registration system and event app. Rivian sponsored the event by providing a few special guests with transportation from the airport, and all attendees could sign up to test drive one of their new vehicles at the event.

The Vision 2030 Noncredit Summit began with Dr. Christian moderating a panel with college CEOs while Dr. Breland led a conversation with four inspiring noncredit students.

The general sessions on Friday welcomed Senator Josh Newman, Secretary Stewart Knox, Eloy Oakley, Board of Governors President Amy Costa, Academic Senate for CCC President Cheryl Aschenbach, and NOCCCD Board President Rosales. We were visited by US Representative Lou Correa, District Director for Assembly Member Avelino Valencia Tina Arias Miller, and former NOCCCD Board of Trustees member Leonard Lahtinen, who has always been a huge supporter of NOCE.
