Flowchart showing the NOCE Web Accessibility Complaint Process: from initial intake and review by the Web Accessibility Team, to solution development, reporting, and final implementation with complainant notification.

This flowchart shows how a school web accessibility complaint moves from start to finish. The process follows four main stages:

Step 1: The Complaint Comes In

A community member submits a complaint. This goes directly to the NOCE Chief Communications Officer. At the same time, the Chief Communications Officer notifies both the NOCE President and the Vice President of Student Services.

Step 2: Team Review

The Chief Communications Officer hands the issue down to the Web Accessibility Team. This team brings together experts to review the issue. This review group includes a Web Content Specialist, an Alternative Media Specialist, the Chief Communications Officer, the Dean of Disability Support Services, and optionally, the Vice President of Student Services.

Step 3: Finding Solutions

The team works together to Develop Solutions and Options. Once they have a plan, they send a formal report out to four people: the Vice President of Student Services, the Manager of Instructional Technology Services, the NOCE President, and the District Director of Diversity and Compliance.

Step 4: Final Steps

Lastly, the path splits into two final actions that happen at the same time: the school implements the changes to fix the website, and they notify the complainant to explain the solutions.
