NOCE will participate in spring emergency preparedness drills focusing on active shooter response 

Drills will be slightly different at each NOCE Center:

• NOCE/NOCCCD Anaheim Campus – will host drills on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at both 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
• NOCE Wilshire/Fullerton College – will host a morning drill on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 10 a.m.
• NOCE Cypress/Cypress College – will host a morning drill on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 10:15 a.m.

*Each drill should last about 10 minutes

The drills will prepare our campus communities for readiness and response to such an event. The drill will include emergency protocols, such as lockdown and shelter-in-place, watching a video, discussing with class or office colleagues, and testing emergency communications.  

Emergency Notifications at North Orange Continuing Education

Faculty, staff, and students will receive notifications from North Orange Continuing Education during emergencies and during emergency drills. The campus safety alert system uses the phone and e-mail addresses entered in Banner or MyGateway. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to use MyGateway to update their personal information for emergency notifications. North Orange Continuing Education (NOCE) will host the Spring 2026 PowerUp and Career Fair Mega Event on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the NOCE Anaheim Campus in Rooms 105/107 and other locations on the first floor.

This free event, which also offers free parking, is open to both students and community members. It aims to connect people with employers, educational opportunities, and support services to help them get ready for work and improve their economic situation. The Office of Congressman Lou Correa will be there, too, helping to strengthen the links between NOCE, workforce partners, and community leaders.

Students attending the event can meet employers and community partners, explore career options, and learn about NOCE’s academic and career training programs. The fair will also have activities like an AI-assisted job search session, practice interviews, and professional headshot photography. These services are designed to help students improve their job skills, build confidence, and get ready for the workforce. The presence of the Office of Congressman Lou Correa will further connect students with community leaders and workforce partners.

To help students get the most out of the event, NOCE is offering career preparation workshops throughout February. These workshops provide practical advice and skill development so students can confidently meet with employers and handle professional situations. Together, the workshops and the PowerUp and Career Fair help students build the skills they need to succeed in their careers. This approach supports NOCE’s commitment to focusing on students, aligning with workforce needs, and helping students achieve long-term economic success by moving from learning skills to engaging in the professional world.

The nomination process is simple. Please fill out the linked form:  NOCE 2027 Teacher of the Year Nomination Form. NOCE’s selected nominee will be honored at an annual recognition banquet hosted by the Orange County Department of Education and the premier sponsor, Schools First Federal Credit Union. NOCE successfully hosted its festive Power Up: Holiday Edition Resource Fair on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, providing students and community members with a day of resources, connections, and holiday cheer.

Held at the Anaheim Campus, the event welcomed attendees during two sessions, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., ensuring broad access for learners with varying schedules. One of the highlights of the day was a special visit from Santa, who brought joy to students, staff, and families. Participants enjoyed taking photos with Santa and grabbing cookies and candy canes as they explored a wide variety of campus and community resources. The fair brought together more than a dozen community partners who provided valuable information and support services, including the United Domestic Workers, Walgreens, World System–Financial Literacy, The Coalition of Orange County Community Health Centers, Serve the People, Fullerton College, Cypress College, and several NOCE programs and services.

The event’s success was made possible through the collaborative efforts of many. Thank you to Board of Trustees Member Ryan Bent for bringing holiday cheer throughout the day.

Thank you to the Campus Communications team for coordinating the event, and to the Campus Safety and Facilities teams for their invaluable support. Appreciation also goes to NOCE programs and services for participating and to the numerous community partners who attended to support the NOCE community. The Power Up: Holiday Edition Resource Fair once again demonstrated NOCE’s commitment to connecting students with the tools, information, and encouragement they need to thrive.
