NOCE Launches Hunger-Free Campus Initiative

NOCE is pleased to participate in the Hunger-Free Campus Initiative legislated by Assembly Bill AB 453 (Limon). Under this initiative, community colleges are allocated additional, dedicated funding for students to receive information on how to enroll in the CalFresh Program and to access on-campus food distribution. The CalFresh Program was established to provide nutrition assistance to people in low-income households. The program allows individuals to increase their food-buying power so they are able to purchase more nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods.

To access information related to CalFresh as well as local Orange County food banks preparing and sharing hot meals during Thanksgiving week, click here:

NOCE is putting these additional resources to good use, especially in anticipation of the holiday season, and with the desire to help those in need. The CalFresh enrollment and local food bank information have been distributed to all three NOCE Centers along with baskets of fresh oranges and apples. All students are encouraged to take a treat and a flyer as they pass through each Admissions and Registration (A&R) Office. The location of the A&R Offices are:

  • Anaheim Campus: Second Floor
  • Cypress Center: Parking Lot 4, Building 18, Office 100
  • Wilshire Center: Building 300

Happy Thanksgiving from NOCE!
