Friends, Food, Fun: Join the Community Connections Student Club

NOCE is launching its first student club, the NOCE Community Connections Student Club. The student club’s president, Wendy Torres, said the purpose of the club aims to connect students in fun, engaging and meaningful activities.This engagement will then provide for a more enjoyable school experience.

“Student networking can lead to increased completion in programs as well as transition into a new or more advanced program,” said faculty adviser Jennifer Carey. “Students will want to continue in school if they have formed a supportive community where they can get peer assistance – and have fun,” continued Carey.

The NOCE Community Connections Student Club will meet twice and host one activity per month.Meetings will including sharing strategies for school success, developing leadership skills, engagement in team work and networking, and improving communication skills. Participating in student clubs also is a great addition on a resume or job application. Some of the planned activities include tours to Fullerton College and Cypress College, visiting the FC Cadena Cultural Center and the CC International Students Club, student success workshops.In addition, the Community Connections Club will plan many fun events including beach BBQs, concerts, movie nights, sporting events, and more.

ALL NOCE STUDENTS are invited and welcome to check out the first club meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Anaheim Campus, Room 107. The meeting will include FREE PIZZA LUNCH; students are invited to the meeting to help plan fun and meaningful events for the spring term.
