Free Conference: Building Trauma Informed Communities of Learning

On Wednesday, November 28, 2018 and Thursday, November 29, 2018 the North Orange County Regional Consortium for Adult Education (NOCRC) and North Orange Continuing Education will be hosting a free conference, Building Trauma Informed Communities of Learning. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Business Expo Center in Anaheim (1960 S Anaheim Way, Anaheim, CA 92805). This conference also serves as a great professional development opportunity for parents, teachers, social workers, and anyone who works with children and families.
The special event on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 includes a presentation on understanding ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and building self-healing communities. The event will provide information about the ACEs study and what we can do to improve the health for current and future generations. The second day of the conference will include a presentation from world renowned speaker, educator, and author, Nancy Thomas on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Thomas has over 40 years of experience and her work is acclaimed for helping many types of emotional disorders, including Reactive Attachment Disorder, Early Childhood Trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Asperger's, and more.
Open to all members of the community, the special conference will provide breakfast and lunch to attendees each day and will serve as a great resource - providing information on how we can create stronger and healthier communities. Participants can attend one or both days.
